Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam welcomes andhighly values outcomes of the summit between the Democratic People’s Republicof Korea (DPRK) and the US which took place in Singapore on June 12, said spokespersonof the Foreign Ministry of Vietnam Le Thi Thu Hang.
Hang made the statement in response toreporters’ query regarding the DPRK-US summit outcomes in Hanoi on June 12.
The spokesperson emphasised Vietnam’spersistent stance on supporting denuclearisation, peace and stability on theKorean Peninsula, and settling all issues by peaceful measures and on the basisof international law.
“We hope that the implementation ofagreements reached at the DPRK-US summit will bring about positive results, contributingto maintaining peace, stability, cooperation and development in Northeast Asiaand the world,” Hang said.
TheUS-DPRK meeting occurred at 9am on June 12 (local time) at Capella Hotel onSentosa Island.
DPRK’s leader Kim JongUn and US President Donald Trump signed a document after their talks in which Kimreaffirmed his commitment to "work toward complete denuclearisation of theKorean Peninsula", without giving further details, according tointernational media.- VNA
