VUFAChairman Dang Van Chien said Vietnamese people always remember and aregrateful to the valuable assistance and support of their Ukrainianfriends in the past struggle for national independence as well as in thecurrent national construction and development.
Vietnam and Ukraine have witnessed rapid growth in two-way tradewhich increased from 151 million USD in 2007 to 350 million USD in 2013.
Vietnam mainly exported farm and forestryproducts, seafood, garment-textile and footwear to the European market,while importing iron and steel, fertiliser, chemicals and machines.
Ukraine is running four investment projects worth around 24million USD in Vietnam, focusing on marine transport, hydropower,and vegetable processing.
Bilateral cooperation inscience-technology and education-training has been fostered, with some1,400 Vietnamese students pursuing their study in Ukraine.
Chien said that over the past 20 years, the VUFA has made activecontributions to strengthening the traditional solidarity, friendshipand cooperation between the two nations.
UkrainianAmbassador to Vietnam Oleksiy Shovkoplias said he hopes the associationwill continue friendship exchanges in the coming time to enhance themutual understanding between the two peoples.-VNA
