At theone-day event, the participants also discussed risks in transnationaleducation and how to mitigate those risks, how to write a Memorandum ofAgreement (MOA), distance learning, guidance in choosing partners andquality assurance issues.
With two campuses in Asiaincluding one in China and the other in Malaysia , the Universityof Nottingham took the opportunity to share their expertise andknowledge in creating international links throughout the three years’operation of their partnership forum.
Director of BritishCouncil Vietnam Robin Rickard said the British Council has been veryactive in helping both UK and Vietnamese universities in setting upand running transnational education programmes by brokering support,hosting seminars, workshops, and the organisation of study tours.
“This workshopcontinues to offer another interesting opportunity for all participantsto explore the building of successful transnational partnerships ineducation, with an excellent case study from the University ofNottingham ,” he said.
Helen Foster, Head of thePartnership Development, International Office at the University ofNottingham added: ‘We are excited to have such a great opportunity tomeet with a number of colleagues from different educational institutionsin Vietnam and to discuss issues related to transnational educationpartnerships, a very promising yet challenging area of partnership.
“Asthe University of Nottingham has successfully launched two campuses inChina and Malaysia and initially built links with some Vietnameseinstitutions, I believe we have great lessons to share with you andlearn much from your local perspectives,” she added.-VNA
