Vietnam always treasures its relations with the Czech Republic and appreciates contributions by the country’s Chamber of Deputies to the development of the bilateral ties, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc affirmed when meeting Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Radek Vondracek in Prague on April 17.

Prague (VNA) – Vietnam always treasures its relations with the CzechRepublic and appreciates contributions by the country’s Chamber of Deputies tothe development of the bilateral ties, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc affirmedwhen meeting Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Radek Vondracek in Prague onApril 17.

Phuc asked the Chamberof Deputies of the Czech Republic to maintain efforts to help boost theEuropean Union’s signing and ratification of the EU-Vietnam Free TradeAgreement (EVFTA) and the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA).

He suggested bothsides step up the exchange of experience in legislative affairs, strengthencooperation between the Vietnam-Czech Republic, and Czech Republic-VietnamFriendship Parliamentarians’ Groups, and bolster collaboration ineducation-training, science-technology, environment, agriculture, labour andbetween their localities.

The VietnameseGovernment leader requested the lower house to continue creating favourableconditions for the Vietnamese community in the country.

He also forwarded NAChairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan’s invitation to visit Vietnam on the occasion ofthe 70th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties in 2020 to Radek Vondracek.

The host spoke highlyof PM Phuc’s visit, saying that it demonstrates an important development stepin bilateral relations.

He affirmed the Chamberof Deputies attaches importance to Czech Republic-Vietnam traditionalfriendship, and totally supports the early signing and ratification of theEVFTA and the EVIPA.

He voiced his beliefthat the early opening of a direct air route connecting Prague and Hanoi willcontribute to fostering bilateral cooperation in trade, investment and tourism.

He also affirmed tocontinue facilitating the lives of over 65,000 Vietnamese people in hiscountry, and said he will arrange to visit Vietnam at his convenience.-VNA
