During the visit, theVietnamese team was received by Senator Alberto Anaya, the GeneralSecretary of the Workers’ Party (PT), who praised the work ofacupuncture centres called Ho Chi Minh in Mexico , considering thembeneficial for both the PT and the Communist Party of Vietnam.
The PT leader said he hoped that cooperation will develop in the futureand suggested that Vietnam build two new acupuncture centres to providetreatment for drug users during detoxification and disabled children inMonterrey city.
After the reception, both parties signed an agreement to extend the operational time of these centres to December 2012.
Over the past ten years, the Ho Chi Minh acupuncture centres haveprovided treatment for nearly 10,000 patients in the country.
At a meeting with Zacatecas University , they agreed to expand their operations and train more acupuncturists.
They also agreed to continue holding training courses for Mexicanacupuncturists to learn Vietnamese methods of acupuncture and pointinjection therapies.
Vietnam ’s acupuncture centres have so far trained 20 MAs inacupuncture for Zacatecas University . The VNHA has also sent 40 teamsof doctors to treat 6,500 patients in Zacatecas and surrounding areas./.
