Hanoi (VNA) – The Prime Minister has approved a project to organisethe 19th Asian Physics Olympiad in 2018 (APhO 2018) in Vietnam, which is hopedto help encourage the study and teaching of physics in schools, thus seekingand nurturing talented students in the subject.
APhO 2018 will take place in Hanoi from May 5-15 with the participation ofabout 30 teams from 30 countries and territories, along with 60 scientific observersand 17 international guests.
A National Steering Committee for APhO 2018 has been formed and headedby Minister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nha.
The committee is tasked to coordinate with ministries, sectors andlocalities in preparing and organising the competition, while directing andsupervising the implementation of the work. The University of Technology willact as the chair of the event.-VNA
