A delegation from the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) is attending the International Army Games 2018 (Armygames - 2018), which is being held in Russia from July 27 to August 1.

Moscow (VNA) – A delegation from the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) isattending the International Army Games 2018 (Armygames - 2018), which is beingheld in Russia from July 27 to August 1.

The Vietnamese delegation is competing in tank biathlon,military medical race and field kitchen.

On July 28, Chief of the General Staff of the VPA and DeputyDefence Minister Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang, participated in theevent’s opening ceremony.

This is the first time the VPA has joined the games. Itspresence is to realise agreements signed during the visits to Vietnam andRussia by the two Defence Ministers in January and April.

This year’s event, the fourth of its kind, saw theparticipation of 181 teams from 32 nations. It aims to intensify friendshipbetween participating countries in general and understanding between theirarmies in particular.-VNA
