Vietnam supports poor young people in Laos

The Vietnam-Laos youth friendship village project, worth 2 million USD, has been inaugurated in the Lao capital city of Vientiane.
The Vietnam-Laos youth friendship village project, worth 2 million USD,has been inaugurated in the Lao capital city of Vientiane.

The village, funded by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union CentralCommittee, covers an area of 1,000 hectares along the Vietnam-Laosborder line in Phon Lom village, Khamkeut district, in the Lao centralprovince of Borikhamxay .

Since beginning in 2008, the project has helped 70-80 poor young households stablise their lives on a 50 hectare site./.

The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on October 21 signed a cooperation agreement with Uiseong county, Gyeongsangbuk-do province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on sending local labourers to the RoK to work seasonally under the form of locality-to-locality collaboration between the two countries in the 2023 - 2027 period.

Tien Giang strives to reduce poverty rate to 0.87% this year
