Vietnam, Spain seek to boost trade ties

Inhis opening speech, Ambassador Alfonso Tena stressed that the eventoffers a good chance for the two sides’ enterprises to seek new partnersand investment opportunities.

According to VCCI Vice ChairmanHoang Van Dung, with its political stability and population of almost90 million, Vietnam is considered as an attractive market for foreigninvestors, including those from Spain.

He said Vietnam hopes todraw more investment to a series of domains including infrastructuredevelopment, farm product processing, telecommunication, health,education, tourism and green growth.

Meanwhile, Spanish Ministerof Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Jose Manual Garcia Margallo statedthat his country is willing to share its experience with others indealing with economic difficulties.

He stressed that bothnations should make the most of every opportunity to foster theirall-round cooperation in the coming time.

Vietnam - Spaintrade in goods surmounted a record amount of 2.16 billion EUR (2.98billion USD) last year, with rises in exports from both sides. Spain nowranks 59th among foreign investors in Vietnam, with a totalregistered capital of 30.3 million USD.-VNA
