Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam was ranked seventh worldwide in consumer confidence by the Nielsen Vietnam Index of Consumer Confidence.
According to the third quarter Nielsen report, Vietnam’s consumer confidence index was 107 points.
Job stability was the top life priority for Vietnamese people in the quarter, followed by health and work-life balance.
The ranking shows the confidence of Vietnamese consumers in the economic stability in the country, said Nielsen Vietnam Director General Nguyen Huong Quynh.
The survey also indicated that Southeast Asian consumers are among the world’s most confident, with 115 points, up two points from the previous quarter.
Southeast Asia was also the region with the highest saving rate, with around 70 percent of surveyed people saving some of their income compared to the global average of 52 percent.
Vietnamese people are the most careful spenders in the world, with 78 percent surveyed choosing to save their money.-VNA
