Hanoi (VNA) - The Government has set 17 sustainable developmentgoals to 2030, in Decree No 136/NQ-CP which was issued recently.
Goals include no poverty in any form and anywhere; zero hunger, food security,nutrition improvements and sustainable agriculture development; good health andbetter social welfare for everyone; quality, equal and comprehensive education,and promotion of life-long study opportunities for everyone; gender equality; enhancedrights and opportunities for women and girls;
The country alsotargets sufficient water and latrine systems, sustainable management of waterresources; access to sustainable, reliable and affordable energy for everyone;sustainable economic growth; decent work for everyone; resilientinfrastructure, inclusive and sustainable industrialisation, and innovation;reduced inequality; sustainable and resilient development of urban and ruralareas; safe living and working environments; sustainable production andconsumption; timely and effective responses to climate change and naturaldisasters; preservation and sustainable use of the ocean, seas and searesources; protection and sustainable development of forest, conservation ofbiodiversity.
The country willstrive for a peaceful, democratic, just, equal, civilised society; buildeffective institutions with good accountability and promote global partnershiptowards sustainable development.
The decree outlines general tasks and solutions to realise the goals, withfocus sharpened on completing institutions and policies, enhancingcommunications, promoting the role of and participation by relevant parties, mobilisingand arranging financial resources, and intensifying international cooperation.
