Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam recorded no new COVID-19 cases on May 10 morning,marking the 24th consecutive day without infections in thecommunity, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Preventionand Control.
Among the total 288 patients, 148 were imported and the remaining wereinfected with the coronavirus in the community.
So far, the country has reported no deaths from the disease.
As many as 241 patients or 84 percent were declared fully recovered. Theremaining 47 cases are being treated at health facilities, of whom four testednegative for the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 once and 13 negative at leasttwice.
Inparticular, patient No.91, the 43-year-old British pilot, is under treatment atthe HCM City Hospital for Tropical Diseases in a very critical condition. Alung transplant has been considered for him as a final effort.
As many as 11,130 people who had close contactwith confirmed patients or entered Vietnam from pandemic-hit regions are beingquarantined, including 180 at hospitals, 6,146 at other establishments and 4,804at home./.
