– The Vietnam-Russia Inter-GovernmentalCommittee on Military Technical Cooperation convened its 19th meeting in Hanoi on October 12.

The event was co-chaired by Vietnamese Deputy Minister ofDefence Be Xuan Truong and Nikolaevich Drozhzhov, DeputyDirector of the Russian Federal Service for Military Technical Cooperation.

The two sides discussed the outcome ofcooperation under signed agreements and set forth cooperative orientations forthe coming time.

They expressed their delight at positivedevelopment of the Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership, whichwas reflected through visits of the two countries’ high-level leaders in 2017.

They appreciated the role of defence andmilitary technical cooperation in the partnership, affirming to continuefostering the cooperation in the time ahead.

The two sides discussed and reached aconsensus on a military technical cooperation plan for 2018, and exchangedviews on contents of the 2016-2020 military technical cooperation plan.

Deputy Minister of Defence Be Xuan Truong affirmedthat the Vietnamese army and people always attach importance to the finetraditional friendship and cooperation with the Russian army and people.-VNA
