Vietnam - RoK further deepening relations

Since Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (RoK) established diplomatic ties in 1992, bilateral relations have thrived across all fields, especially in economy and people-to-people exchanges.

Products from Rang Dong - Vietnam’s leading lighting manufacturer - reached consumers in the RoK at a recent exhibition after meeting the country’s stringent quality requirements.

Meanwhile, despite being affected by Covid-19, production and business activities at Samsung Vietnam remain on schedule. The company maintains its confidence in Vietnam’s market. The Republic of Korea is still the largest investor in the country, with a total of 9,165 projects.

The RoK is currently Vietnam’s third trade partner.

Despite the negative impact of the pandemic, bilateral trade in 2020 was equal to the level pre-pandemic, reaching 66 billion USD, or 12.85 percent of Vietnam’s total trade turnover globally.

In the first 10 months of 2021, bilateral trade hit 63 billion USD, a year-on-year increase of 17.6 percent.

The official visit by NA Chairman Hue at the invitation of NA Speaker of the RoK Park Byeong-seug is expected to create new momentum for the flourishing Vietnam-RoK strategic cooperative partnership, as they mark the 30th anniversary of diplomatic ties next year./.
