At 11pm onJune 1, Chatterjee Tuhindra, a 58-year-old Indian crewman working on theHanjin California ship en route to Singapore from China, suffered astroke. The Liberian ship was 160 nautical miles from the coast of DaNang at the time.
After receiving a distress signal,the Vietnamese SAR 274 ship, with two doctors on board, left the localsea port for its rescue mission.
It took more thanten hours for SAR 274 to reach the Hanjin California’s location, rescuethe man and bring him to the mainland for proper treatment.-VNA
