Hanoi (VNA) - An additional 7,988 infections of COVID-19, including34 imported cases, were recorded in Vietnam on November 8, bringing thenationwide tally to 976,672.

Compared to the previous day, the number of daily cases has increasednationally by 323.

Ho Chi Minh City reported the highest number of infections with 1,316, followedby Dong Nai province with 969, and Binh Duong province with 823.

The capital city of Hanoi logged 111 new cases.

According to the Ministry of Health’s report, 3,390 patients nationwideare in serious conditions, with 306 requiring invasive ventilation and 13 onlife support (ECMO).

On the day, the country saw 67 deaths from the disease. The death tollnow hits 22,598.

A total of 1,073 recoverieswere reported on November 8, taking the total number of patients given theall-clear to 841,475.

More than 90.68 million vaccine doses have been administered to date, with over29.33 million people having received two doses./.

Hanoi tightens control, prevention of monkeypox
