Hanoi (VNA) – Without new cases of COVID-19 toreport on September 21 morning, the number of infections in Vietnam staysunchanged, at 1,068.

Among all the cases, 691 are domesticallytransmitted cases, including 551 related to Da Nang since the new outbreakbegan in the central city on July 25, according to the national steeringcommittee for COVID-19 prevention and control.

As many as 942 patients have recovered, butthere have also been 35 deaths linked with the coronavirus disease, mostlyelderly people with serious underlying health conditions.

Fourteen of the 126 patients still undertreatment have tested negative for the virus SARS-CoV-2 that causes COVID-19once, three others twice, and 22 thrice.

There are 24,626 people having close contactwith confirmed cases or coming from pandemic-hit regions under quarantine atpresent, including 385 in hospitals, 15,294 in other concentrated quarantinesites, and 8,947 at home or accommodation facilities./.

Hanoi tightens control, prevention of monkeypox
