Vietnam has no new COVID-19 cases to report over the last 12 hours, keeping the national tally at 1,049, the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control announced on September 6 afternoon.

Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam has no new COVID-19 casesto report over the last 12 hours, keeping the national tally at 1,049, theNational Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control announced onSeptember 6 afternoon.

Of the patients, 691 are locally-transmitted cases, with 551 related to theoutbreak in the central city of Da Nang.

On the same day, 10 more COVID-19 patients, all from Da Nang, were given theall-clear, raising the total recoveries to 815. Among the active patients, 27have tested negative for the novel coronavirus once, 24 twice, and 35 threetimes.

The death toll remains at 35. Most of the fatalities were the elderly withserious underlying diseases.

There are 40,620 people having close contact with confirmedcases or coming from pandemic-hit areas under quarantine at present./.
