Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam logged zero new COVID-19 cases within thepast 12 hours as of 6 a.m of September 9, according to the national steeringcommittee for COVID-19 prevention and control.
The country has documented 1,054 coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 infections so far.
Of the total, 691 were infected with the virus domestically, including 551linked with Da Nang city since the latest coronavirus wave began there on July25.
As many as 868 patients have recovered while 35 have died from complicationsrelated to the disease. Most of the fatalities were the elderly with seriousunderlying health conditions.
Among 186 still under treatment, 13 have tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 once, 21others twice and 35 thrice. Currently, six patients are in critical conditions.
There are 37,474 people having closecontact with confirmed cases or coming from pandemic-hit regions underquarantine at present, including 834 in hospitals, 13,365 in other quarantinesites and 23,274 at home or accommodation facilities./.
