Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam is the second-most optimistic country in consumer confidence in the Asia-Pacific, following Myanmar, as per the MasterCard Index of Consumer Confidence.
According to the latest MasterCard report, Vietnam’s consumer confidence index was 94.2 points.
Although the Asia-Pacific recorded a decline in consumer confidence, with an overall index of below 60 points, consumers in Myanmar, Vietnam and India remained upbeat about market potential for the next six months.
Concerns about the stock market and job prospects were key motivations for declines in optimism among consumers. Sri Lanka and Singapore saw the lowest consumer faith.
Meanwhile, optimism in Vietnam and Myanmar was spurred on by substantial improvements in the securities market.-VNA
