Vietnam ranks first at ASEAN Skills Competition

Vietnam won 15 gold, six silver and six bronze medals, ranking first at the 10th ASEAN Skills Competition that wrapped up in Hanoi on October 28.
Vietnam won 15 gold, six silver and six bronze medals, ranking first atthe 10th ASEAN Skills Competition that wrapped up in Hanoi on October28.

It was followed by Indonesia with nine golds and Malaysia with eight gold medals, according to the organising board.

Thesix-day competition drew about 300 young workers, under the age of 22,from 10 ASEAN member countries competing in 23 occupational skills andtwo performance skills.

Vietnam first hosted the ASEANcompetition in 2004, topping the medal tally with 13 of the 18 goldmedals. At the 9th event in Indonesia in 2012, Vietnam came second, with44 workers competing in 22 skills.-VNA

ASEAN’s goods, culinary culture promoted in Europe

The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on October 21 signed a cooperation agreement with Uiseong county, Gyeongsangbuk-do province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on sending local labourers to the RoK to work seasonally under the form of locality-to-locality collaboration between the two countries in the 2023 - 2027 period.

Tien Giang strives to reduce poverty rate to 0.87% this year
