Vietnam raises 16.91 billion USD from corporate bonds in nine months: VBMA

Over 16.91 billion USD has been raised from sales of corporate bonds in the first nine months of this year, according the Vietnam Bond Market Association (VBMA).
Hanoi (VNA) – Over 16.91 billion USD has beenraised from sales of corporate bonds in the first nine months of this year,according the Vietnam Bond Market Association (VBMA).

Some 350 trillion VND (15.38 billion USD), or 91 percentof the total sales, were mobilised from private placements; while 12 trillionVND worth of corporate bonds were sold at public offerings, accounting for 3percent of the total. 

The remainder, or 1 billion USD worth of bonds, were soldto the international market. They included 500 million USD worth of bond fromVingroup, 200 million USD worth of green bond from developer BIM Land SJC, and 300million USD worth of convertible bond from developer Novaland.

The group of commercial banks remained the largest issuerduring the period, selling 132.3 trillion VND worth of corporate bonds. It wasfollowed by the real estate developer group which have issued 126.7 trillionVND worth of bonds, about 11 percent of which were unsecured or backed byshares./.
