At the meeting, participants discussed a programmeto connect the two countries’ enterprises during a Vietnamese businessdelegation visit to Argentina scheduled for next August.
A wide range of Vietnamese products for export and the country’s import demands were also introduced.
Onthe occasion, the embassy’s representatives also held a meeting withofficials from the Chamber of Commerce of the Southern Common Market(Mercosur) and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
The two sides exchanged views on a plan to implement the agreementsreached with Vietnamese enterprises during teh Chamber delegation’svisit to Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines and Singapore earlier thismonth.
The Mercosur-ASEAN Chamber of Commerce was establishedin June to promote economic, trade and investment cooperation betweenthe two blocs.
Bilateral trade between Vietnam and Uruguayreached 124 million USD last year, of which Vietnam’s exports werevalued at 41 million USD.
In the first five months of this year,Vietnam exported goods worth 11 million USD to the southern Americancountry with 25 million USD in imports.
Vietnam exported sportsfootwear, electronics and marine products to Uruguay, and importedleather, material wood, cereals, beef and cotton.-VNA
