The Vietnamese Ambassador said that Vietnam attachesimportance to security cooperation between two countries, and announcedthat Vietnam will continue to receive 50 Mozambiquean policemen fortraining at Vietnam’s People’s Police Academy in 2015.
Theambassador thanked the Mozambiquean Interior Ministry for measures toensure safety for the Vietnamese Viettel Group’s investment in thecountry. He also asked for further measures to protect Vietnamese peoplewho are living and working in Mozambique amid recent complicatedsituation.
On his part, Minister Monteiro spoke highly of thecollaboration between two security ministries to implement thecooperation agreements on the fight against crimes and training.
Headded that information sharing between two countries abouttrans-boundary crimes has made great contributions to ensuring publicorder and safety for residents.
The Ministerappreciated the cooperation between two law enforcement authorities inthe fight against illegal trade of endangered species and their parts.He also hailed the Vietnamese Embassy’s communications efforts to raisethe awareness of the Vietnamese community about protecting wildlifeanimals.
He thanked Vietnam for the support in training andsharing experience with Mozambiquean police, saying that he is planningto visit Vietnam in 2016.
To date, Vietnam has helped Mozambique train two interior ministry officials and 29 policemen.-VNA
