Rabat (VNA) – Vietnam and Moroccosigned several memoranda of understanding (MoU) on environmental, trade andindustrial cooperation in Rabat city on March 28, during an official visit tothe African nation by Chairwoman of the Vietnamese National Assembly Nguyen ThiKim Ngan.
The Vietnamese Ministry of Natural Resources andEnvironment and the Moroccan Ministry of Energy, Mines and SustainableDevelopment inked an MoU on cooperation in environment and sustainabledevelopment.
Moroccan Minister Aziz Rabbah said as adeveloping nation, his country pays special attention to sustainabledevelopment and building a green economy. With the signing of this document,Vietnam and Morocco will become companions in fighting climate change andpromoting sustainable development.
He also stressed the importance of strongercooperation in this regard between the two countries, adding that both sidesneed to realise the deals signed this time for the sake of sustainabledevelopment and future generations.
Vietnamese Minister Tran Hong Ha said likeMorocco, Vietnam is a beautiful country with many natural wonders and a stablesecurity and political environment. However, the strong development process isposing problems to sustainable development. The country defines developing agreen and sustainable economy as an important task which needs the twocountries’ cooperation and experience sharing.
Also on March 28, the Vietnamese Ministry ofIndustry and Trade and the Moroccan Ministry of Industry, Investment, Trade andthe Digital Economy signed an MoU on establishing a sub-committee forcooperation in commerce and industry (SCCCI). The SCCCI establishment aims toenhance win-win commercial and industrial partnerships.
On this occasion, the two ministries inkedanother MoU on their cooperation.
Accordingly, both sides agreed to enhancecollaboration in trade and industry so as to bolster bilateral trade and theexchange of industrial knowledge and technology. They will increase sharinginformation about business opportunities, especially in the commodities withhigh trading potential like agricultural and aquatic products, textile-garment,footwear, fibres, mobile phones and components, computers, electronic productsand components, phosphate, and coal.
The ministries will step up ties in the fieldsof their strength such as agricultural business, electronics and mechanicsindustries, renewable energy, and the production of textile-garment, chemicalsand fertilisers. They will also share experience in making trade and industrydeveloping mechanisms and policies, promote investment in and establishment ofjoint ventures, and boost manpower training to develop sectors, especially industrialand technical ones.
The two sides agreed to set up a Vietnam-Moroccoworking group for commercial and industrial cooperation to keep coordination inresolving joint issues in this sphere. They will also work out strategies forenhancing commercial and industrial relations.-VNA
