Vietnam, Mongolia expect 12 mln USD in trade

Vietnam and Mongolia have agreed to set up their business associations, aiming at obtaining 12 million USD in two-way trade by 2012.
Vietnam and Mongolia have agreed to set up their business associations,aiming at obtaining 12 million USD in two-way trade by 2012.

Theagreement was made during the 14th session of the Mongolia-VietnamInter-governmental Committee on economic, trade andscientific-technological cooperation held in Ulan Bato from August26-29.

The Mongolian side to the meeting was led by TunjinBadamjunai, Minister for Food Agriculture and Light Industry andChairman of the sub-committee. The Vietnamese side was headed by Ho XuanHung, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development and Chairmanof the sub-committee.

The two sides reviewed the implementationof the agreements reached at the previous session, informed each otherof socio-economic development of their respect countries and setorientation for future fundamental cooperation.

They stressedthat during the upcoming visit to Vietnam by the Mongolian Chairmanof National Assembly in December, the two sides are expected to sign anagreement on cooperation in education and training for the 2011-2005period and a protocol on hygiene and food safety quarantine for meats.

Onthe occasion, Vietnamese and Mongolian businesses reached cooperationagreements, serving Vietnam’s cattle-feed processing industry.

TheVietnamese delegation was received by Mongolian Deputy Prime MinisterMiyegombo Enkhbold, who stressed the two countries’ strength onagriculture as well as opportunities for cooperation in health care,education, food, agriculture, light industry, mine and energy.

Hesaid he believed that Vietnam as ASEAN Chair will support Mongolia’s participation in the East Asian Summit meeting and activities ofASEAN.

On August 29, the delegation attended a congress to set up the Vietnamese people association in Mongolia.

Two-way trade between Vietnam and Mongolia reached 9.8 million USD in 2009./.
