Speaking at the signing ceremony, Vietnamese CommercialCounsellor in Malaysia Pham Quoc Anh said trade between the two countriesslumped by 15 percent annually in the first eight months of this year due tothe COVID-19 pandemic.
Via the MoU, the Office hopes to help VMBIZ improve itscapacity and expand ties with Vietnamese and Malaysian business associationsand entrepreneurs, he said.
VMBIZ Chairman Ngo Sy Tuyen wished that the Office wouldprovide VMBIZ with information about demand for exports-imports of the twonations’ firms. VMBIZ pledges to help the Office carry out trade promotionactivities, seek partners, and develop markets.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Malaysia Le Quy Quynh, for hispart, suggested that both sides should soon establish specialised units tocoordinate common activities, including bringing Vietnamese goods to Malaysiaand sharing experience with Malaysian associations and businesses.
Following the signing ceremony, a number of Vietnamese andMalaysian firms also met together to seek cooperation opportunities./.
