Among the new infections, 200 were found in Ho Chi Minh City– the country’s current largest outbreak, 91 in Dong Thap, 13 in Phu Yen, 11 inAn Giang, 10 in Quang Ngai, seven in Ca Mau, four in Bac Ninh, three each inKhanh Hoa, Lam Dong, Gia Lai and Bac Giang, two each in Bac Lieu and Tra Vinh,and one each in Nghe An, Binh Dinh and Hanoi.
Vietnam has to date reported 21,849 domestically-transmittedcases and 1,891 imported ones. Of the total, 20,279 have been documented sinceApril 27 when the fourth wave of the pandemic broke out in the country.
The ministry’s Medical Examination and Treatment Departmentsaid 8,557 patients have been given the all-clear, and the national COVID-19death toll has reached 105.
Among active patients still undergoing treatment, 331 have testednegative to the coronavirus once, 179 twice, and 83 thrice./.
