Vietnam, Laos trade unions agree to boost cooperation

At the talks, which is part of the Vietnamese delegation’s visit toLaos from September 24-28, the two sides informed each other of thecurrent situation of the two countries’ trade unions.

They alsoaffirmed their determination to further promote cooperation between thetwo organisations, thus contributing to deepening the Vietnam-Laosspecial relations

During the talks, the two sides also reviewedthe fine cooperation in bilateral ties, especially in the 2008-2013period.

The two trade unions worked closely in providingtechnical assistance and training staffs as well as sharing experienceand mutually supporting each other at international forums in the periodunder review.

On this occasion, they signed a cooperationagreement for the 2013-2018 period, which will focus on providingrefresher courses for officials from the Lao side and enhancinginformation exchange between Lao dong (Labour) Newspaper of Vietnam andHangngan Newspaper of Laos.

They also agreed to continue tocarry out high-level meetings and the exchange of delegations, whilestrengthening cooperation between trade unions of the two countries’localities.-VNA

The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on October 21 signed a cooperation agreement with Uiseong county, Gyeongsangbuk-do province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on sending local labourers to the RoK to work seasonally under the form of locality-to-locality collaboration between the two countries in the 2023 - 2027 period.

Tien Giang strives to reduce poverty rate to 0.87% this year

Chinese sick sailor on vessel AMIS STAR provided with first aid
