Vietnam, Laos present joint history works

A conference to review the project on compiling the works on the history of Vietnam-Laos, Laos-Vietnam special relations for 1930-2007 was held in Vientiane on June 6.
A conference to review the project on compiling the works on the historyof Vietnam-Laos, Laos-Vietnam special relations for 1930-2007 was heldin Vientiane on June 6.

After four years of implementation,the project was completed as scheduled and documents produced foreducation both in the society and internationally, said PhaduongChitvongsa, member of the Lao Party CentralCommittee and Head of its Propaganda and Training Department.

The projecthighlighted the achievements and characteristics of the specialrelationship between the two Parties, States and people during thestruggle for national liberation in the past as well as during nationalconstruction and defence at present.

Bounnhang Volachit,Politburo member, permanent member of the Lao Party Central Committee’sSecretariat and Vice State President, affirmed the project was a resultof the tireless intellectual work of many people, with the cooperationof Party and State agencies and mass organisations.

He stressedthe upcoming tasks of implementing the works’ contents and disseminatingand educating the tradition to the two countries’ people, servingscientific research and developing curriculums for teaching and learningat schools.

Addressing the conference, Truong Tan Sang,Politburo member and permanent member of the Secretariat of theVietnamese Party Central Committee, and To Huy Rua, Politburo member andHead of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Organisation,spoke highly of the project’s success with a large workload involvingsectors, localities and agencies of both countries, meeting the demandsset by the Politbureaus and Secretariats of the two Parties.

Theworks showed an accurate and vivid manifestation of the history ofVietnam-Laos, Laos-Vietnam special relations, Rua said, adding that theproject had strong messages on the rule of Vietnam-Lao internationalsolidarity and the solidarity of these Indochinese countries for futuregenerations, contributing to maintaining, strengthening and fosteringthe special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the twoParties, States and people of Vietnam and Laos./.
