Hanoi (VNA)
– The Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee and the Lao Front for National Construction (LFNC) Central Committee have agreed on a number of measures to bolster their cooperation in the 2016-2020 period, including the closer affiliation among their chapters in localities sharing border.

During their talks between President of the VFF Central Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan and Chairman of the LFNC Central Committee Saysomphone Phomvihane in Hanoi on August 29, the two sides concurred to increase communications on traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries among both peoples, especially the youth.

They agreed to strengthen information sharing on issues of shared concern, voicing support to each country’s interests based on international law and the stance of each country, and continue increasing exchanges of delegations.

Besides, the two sides will work with the Cambodia ’s National Council of Solidarity Front for Development to implement their memorandum of understanding on the cooperation for the 2014-2016 period and following years.

In 2017 when Vietnam and Laos celebrate their 55th anniversary of diplomatic ties and 40th anniversary of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty of Amity and Cooperation, the two sides will jointly organise celebration activities.

They will also coordinate with each other in receiving feedback and aspiration on bilateral affiliation to serve the growth of each country.

During the talks, the two Fronts’ leaders also briefed each other on the socio-economic situation of each country.-VNA
