Binh Duong (VNA) – The VNTT Company, a subordinatebusiness of the Becamex IDC Corp., basedin southern Binh Duong province, and the NTT Vietnam Corporation, an affiliatecompany of the NTT Group of Japan, officially signed a business cooperationcontract on June 19, a move towards partnership in smart city building inVietnam.
VNTT, founded in 2008, currently owns one of thethree most modern and biggest data centres in Vietnam. Meanwhile, NTT is aleading telecommunications and IT company in Japan.
The newly signed contract covers businesscooperation in building, developing and operating cloud Wi-Fi networks andcloud-based value added services.
It is to materialise the memorandum of understanding signedby Becamex IDC and the NTT Group with the aim of cooperating to study thefeasibility of developing smart cities in Vietnam, especially in Binh Duong NewCity.
After the project is carried out, the two sides will continuewith piloting a Smart Education model in Binh Duong province.
Addressing the contract signing ceremony, Chairman of theprovincial People’s Committee Tran Thanh Liem said the contract is part ofactivities to implement the province’s smart city building plan.
The contents of the contract are also the fields Binh Duongis interested in and wants to develop so as to meet people, businesses andinvestors’ demand, he said.
Liem asked Becamex IDC and the NTT Group to promote theiraffiliates’ efforts to carry out the contract. He also requested localauthorities to support VNTT and NTT Vietnam in implementing the contract.-VNA
