The2nd edition of this kind, the event contributes to enhancingcooperation and cultural exchange between Vietnam and Japan, as well as promotingthe sharing of experience in publishing and transactions in book copyright.
The festival is expected to help introduce Vietnam’s high-quality books to Japanesereaders and vice versa, while pushing domestic publishers to better the enforcementof regulations related to book authors’ ownership in publishing activities.
Addressing the festival, Deputy Minister of Information and CommunicationsHoang Vinh Bao highlighted the increasing cooperation between the two countriesin recent years, saying that this lay a foundation for their collaboration inpublishing.
He suggested the two sides’ publishing sectors boost cooperation and exchange, towardsfurther fostering the multifaceted cooperation between the two nations.
Bao hoped the festival enables the two sides’ publishing houses to seek and set up partnerships.
Gathering 20 Japaneseand 19 Vietnamese publishing houses, the event features activities to share experience of publishingand copyright in Vietnam and Japan.
