Hanoi (VNA) - Defence Minister General Ngo Xuan Lich on October 8hosted a reception for a delegation from the Israeli Defence Ministry led bydirector general of the ministry Udi Adam, who came to attend the firstVietnam-Israel defence policy dialogue.
At the meeting, General Lich believed that the dialogue will contribute toenhancing mutual understanding and trust between the two armies, while openingopportunities for their deeper and more effective cooperation.
Leaders of the Vietnamese Ministry of Defence will create favourable conditionsfor both sides to realise their inked agreements as well as draw up newinitiatives in defence cooperation, he affirmed.
Earlier, Deputy Defence Minister Sen. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Chi Vinh and Udi Adamchaired the first Vietnam-Israel defence policy dialogue, during which they sharedtheir stance on global and regional issues of mutual interest, and discussedmeasures to deepen the bilateral defence ties.
Vinh and his Israeli guest expressed their delight at the sound Vietnam-Israelrelations in recent years, with the defence ties witnessing more comprehensive,practical and effective developments.
The dialogue was organised for the first time ever to concretise commitments ofthe two countries’ leaders and militaries to enhancing solidarity andfriendship, contributing to the global and regional peace, stability anddevelopment.
Both sides agreed to increase the exchange of delegations at all levels, maintainthe defence policy dialogue mechanism, and improve the efficiency of the twoministries’ working group to carry out the signed deals. Particularly, theylaid stress on education and training collaboration, seeing it as a bridge toconnect the two militaries.
Also, the two armies will work together in addressing post-war consequences,cyber security, and defence industry.-VNA
