Over 100 domestic and foreign publishers are showcasing their products at 200 stalls during the 5th Vietnam International Book Fair, which kicked off at Thong Nhat Park, Hanoi on September 10.
The exhibition space is arranged to display more than 3,000 publications featuring Vietnam’s development and integration process, the country’s achievements after 30 years of Doi Moi (reform) as well as works introducing other countries in Southeast Asia.
This year’s exhibition will encompass around 30 events, including introductions to the latest publications, promotions of proprietary right exchanges, publishing cooperation, conferences, talks and introductions of Vietnamese tangible and intangible heritages, among others.
Products from some 20 prestigious publishers are being showcased at the fair.
Deputy Minister of the Information and Communications Truong Minh Tuan said that the event creates an opportunity to popularise Vietnam and the country’s outstanding successes to international friends while expanding international cooperation in publishing activities.
The fair has been held twice annually since 2013 with the aim to foster the joy of reading, boosting book copyright transactions and international cooperation in the field.-VNA
