The agreement was reached during thetalks in Hanoi on March 3 between National Assembly Chairman Nguyen SinhHung and Indonesian Speaker of People’s Consultative Assembly SidartoDanusubroto, right after the welcome ceremony in the morning.
ChairmanHung said he believes the visit will further tighten ties between thetwo nations and their legislatures in particular, expressing hope thatIndonesia will realise its goal of becoming one of the world’s top 10economies by 2025.
Vietnam always values and gives priority toboosting relations with ASEAN member countries, including Indonesia. Theestablishment of strategic partnership between the two countries inJune 2013 marks a considerable progress in their bonds over the past 60years, he noted.
The host noted his wish that both legislativebodies will facilitate contents of the Vietnam – Indonesia cooperationfor peace, stability and development in the region, bringing ASEANnations closer on the path of achieving the common Community by 2015.
Healso hailed Indonesia’s Initiative on Six-Point Principle in the EastSea and suggested realising signed agreements in earnest to ensure peaceand security in the waters and mainland for the sake of peace in theregion.
The top legislator took the occasion to invite SidartoDanusubroto to attend the 132 nd Assembly of the Inter-ParliamentaryUnion in Hanoi in March 2015.
Sidarto Danusubroto said he isconfident that Vietnam will reap more development successes andincreasingly confirm its role and position in the region and the worldat large.
The Speaker expressed his interest to beef upconnections with the Vietnamese NA, ratify joint cooperation agreementsand monitor their implementation.
The East Sea issue, according to him, should be solved by peaceful means and dialogue.-VNA
