Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam and Indonesia have continued their discussions on issues relating to the delimitation of the two countries’ Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) boundary based on the principles of the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
The two countries held their eighth technical meeting on the delimitation of the EEZ in Jakarta, Indonesia, from March 22-24, following the seventh one in Hanoi on December 15-17 last year.
Both sides hoped that the outcomes of the negotiation round would contribute to enhancing the Vietnam-Indonesia strategic partnership.
The Vietnamese delegation was led by Trinh Duc Hai, Vice Chairman of the National Boundary Commission under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while the Indonesian delegation was headed by Octavino Alimudin, Director for Political, Security and Territorial Treaties under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.-VNA
