He made the proposal at a meeting with NationalAssembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan in New Delhi on December 10.
The President highlighted the faithful relationsbetween Vietnam and India, which were founded by Prime Minister JawaharlalNehru and President Ho Chi Minh in the 1950s.
He recommended both nations enhancepeople-to-people exchanges and cooperation in tourism and heritagepreservation.
In turn, NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Nganhighly valued the role and efforts of Greetesh Sharma in supporting Vietnamesepeople in the cause of national independence and reunification.
Over the past 40 years, he has written andtranslated a lot of books and newspapers to help India’s public understandbetter about Vietnam, President Ho Chi Minh, and the two countries’ friendshipand cooperation.
With his significant contributions, thePresident was honoured with the Friendship Order of the Vietnamese State andthe insignia “For Peace and Friendship among Nations” of the Vietnam Union ofFriendship Organisations in 2004./.
