Vietnam surpassed its neighbouring countries in Southeast Asian region, including Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore to rank eighth on the list of The best Countries to Invest in 2019 announced by US News and World Report.
This year’s ranking saw a significant difference compared to last year’s. Particularly, half of countries in this year’s top 20 were not seen in 2018’s list, including Vietnam. The country jumped from the 23rd in last year’s ranking to the 8th, surpassing its neighbouring countries such as Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore.
U.S. News & World Report's ranking is the results of a global perception-based survey and ranks countries based on the highest scores among nearly 7,000 business decision-makers on a compilation of eight equally weighted country attributes including corruption, dynamism, economic stability, entrepreneurship, tax environment, innovation, skilled labour force, and technological expertise.-VNA
