President of Ukraine Petro Proshenco has affirmed that the image of Vietnam is always in the heart of Ukrainian people while meeting with Vietnamese Ambassador to the country Nguyen Minh Tri in Kiev recently.

The President held that Vietnam and Ukraine, despite geographical distance, share a traditional friendship andclose economic-trade cooperation.

He thanked the Vietnamesepeople, including those living and working in Ukraine, for showingtheir solidarity with and support for the Ukrainian people in generaland those in the eastern part of the country in particular.

For his part, Ambassador Tri, who presented credentials to PresidentPetro Proshenco, affirmed that he will do its utmost to foster theVietnam-Ukraine comprehensive partnership.

He suggested theUkrainian Government continue creating conditions for the embassy toperform its tasks, including the protection of citizens and themaintenance of security for the Vietnamese community here.-VNA
