Vietnam’ history spotlighted at Italy workshop

“Vietnam: Past, Present and Future” was the theme of a recent workshop in Milan, Italy held by the Italy-Vietnam Friendship Association’s chapter in Lombardy region.

Participants recalled the historicalvictories of the Vietnamese people during the 20th century, with thepeak of Dien Bien Phu Victory , which led to the signing of GenevaAccords on ending the war and restoring peace in Indochina .

Thevictory proved the sound and creative resistance guideline of theCommunist Party of Vietnam and the growth of the Vietnam People’s Armyas well as opened up a new period of revolution towards the completeliberation of the south and national reunification, said VietnameseAmbassador to Italy Nguyen Hoang Long.

He took this occasion tothank Italian and international friends for their support for Vietnamduring the past struggles against French and US forces as well as forthe current national development.

In the framework of theworkshop, two books on General Vo Nguyen Giap and hero Nguyen Van Troiwhich were translated into the Italian language made debut.-VNA

ASEAN’s goods, culinary culture promoted in Europe

The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on October 21 signed a cooperation agreement with Uiseong county, Gyeongsangbuk-do province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on sending local labourers to the RoK to work seasonally under the form of locality-to-locality collaboration between the two countries in the 2023 - 2027 period.

Tien Giang strives to reduce poverty rate to 0.87% this year

Chinese sick sailor on vessel AMIS STAR provided with first aid
