Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam recorded no COVID-19 infections onSeptember 21, making it the 19th day in a row without community transmission.
The tally remainsunchanged at 1068, including 691 domestically-transmitted cases, according tothe National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.
On the day, five morepatients were declared to recover fully, raising the total treated successfullyto 949. To date, there have also been 35 deaths linked with the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2,mostly elderly people with serious underlying health conditions.
Fifteen activepatients have tested negative for the virus SARS-CoV-2 that causes COVID-19once, two others twice, and 19 thrice.
There are currently 24,626people having close contact with confirmed cases or coming from pandemic-hitregions under quarantine.
According to thesteering committee, at present, COVID-19 outbreaks in Vietnam are basically putunder control, but there remains a risk of infection in major urban areas iflocals are subjective in disease prevention and control.
