Havana (VNA) – The delivery of 5,000 tonnes of Vietnamese rice to Cuba as a donation took place at the headquarters of the Cuban Foreign Trade and Investment Ministry (MINCEX) on June 16.
The gift package was announced by then President Truong Tan Sang during his visit to Cuba last September.
Speaking at the ceremony, General Director of the Vietnamese General Department of State Reserves Pham Phan Dung thanked the precious material and spiritual assistance the Cuban people had given to Vietnamese people in the past.
For his part, MINCEX Director for Commercial Policies with Asia and Oceania Rigoberto Noa was grateful for the Vietnamese gesture, considering it as a token of friendship and bond between the two Parties, States and peoples.
He emphasised the continuing development in the relationship between the two countries with specific projects like rice, vaccine and drug production and affirmed there is still more room for cooperation.-VNA
