Vietnam enters 47th day with no COVID-19 community transmissions

Vietnam entered the 47th straight day without any COVID-19 infections in the community, as no new cases were recorded on October 19 morning, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam entered the 47th straight daywithout any COVID-19 infections in the community, as no new cases were recordedon October 19 morning, according to the National Steering Committee forCOVID-19 Prevention and Control.

The tally stayed unchanged at 1,134, of whom 1,031 have beentreated successfully.

Among patients under treatment, seven tested negative toSARS-CoV-2 once, four twice and 12 thrice. The country currently records nocases in critical conditions. The number of fatalities stands at 35.

As many as 12,379 people nationwide who had close contactwith patients or entered from pandemic-hit areas are under quarantine.

The pandemic continues developing complicatedly in manycountries. Many organisations forecast the pandemic to prolong until 2021./.

Hanoi tightens control, prevention of monkeypox
