Vietnam enhances educational cooperation with Hungary

Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son had a working session with Hungarian Minister of Culture and Innovation Janos Csak in Budapest on June 28 to discuss how to intensify education and training cooperation between the two countries in the coming time.

Budapest (VNA) - Within the framework of National Assembly ChairmanVuong Dinh Hue’s official visit to Hungary, Minister of Education and TrainingNguyen Kim Son had a working session in Budapest on June 28 with HungarianMinister of Culture and Innovation Janos Csak to discuss how to intensifyeducation and training cooperation between the two countries in the comingtime.

Minister Son thanked the Hungarian Government for providingscholarships for Vietnamese officials and students to study at prestigiousHungarian universities, from five in 2012 to 200 each year since 2018.

He expressed his pleasure at the fine development of theVietnam-Hungary cooperation in education to become one of the highlights in thebilateral diplomatic cooperation. He took the Vietnam - Hungary EducationCooperation Forum held on June 27 as an example, during which nine memoranda ofunderstanding (MoUs) between the two sides’ universities were exchanged.

Minister Csak emphasised that the HungarianGovernment's policy is to expand cooperation with Asian countries, and Vietnamhas always been its important partner.

He said that the nine new MoUs will be effectivelyimplemented, thus helping further promote educational cooperation between thetwo countries.

The exchange of delegations as well as the opening of moreeducational institutions will receive the participation and support of Hungary,but there need specific and core projects to achieve the highest efficiency, henoted.

Minister Son proposed prioritise the fields ofpharmaceuticals and agriculture in training collaboration in the coming time.

He also suggested the Hungarian side open more Hungarianlanguage training programmes, with the engagement of leading Hungarian experts,in Vietnam, adding that this will be an important factor to make the twocountries' educational cooperation develop sustainably./.
