Copenhagen (VNA)– On the occasion of the official visit to Denmark by Prime Minister NguyenXuan Phuc from October 19-20 at the invitation of Prime Minister Lars LokkeRasmussen, the two sides issued a joint statement.
During the visit, PM Phuc heldtalks with his host and had a meeting with Queen Margrethe II. Together withother heads of state and government, he attended and addressed the first GreenGrowth and the Global Goals (P4G) Summit initiated by PM Lars Lokke Rasmussen.
The two PMs took note of thevigorous and comprehensive development in the bilateral relationship, andagreed to look for chances to further promote it in the time to come.
They expressed satisfactionat the rapid growth of the bilateral economic relations between the twocountries, and reaffirmed their determination to further push up the promotionof bilateral trade and investment. The two sides agreed to jointly study thepossibility of cooperation in the fields of Denmark’s current strengths whichcan meet Vietnam’s goals of modernization and becoming a high middle-incomenation in 2035. They expressed their support for the early signing andratification of the EU – Vietnam Free Trade Agreement and the Vietnam – EU investmentprotection agreement.
The two sides highly valuedDenmark’s cooperation and development assistance contributed to the success inVietnam’s development as well as growth in economic relation. They alsocommitted to the more dynamic, intensive and extensive cooperation, especiallyin the fields of green growth, renewable energy, water, environment and foodsafety.
The two PMs noted thepositive developments in the current energy partnership.
PM Phuc congratulated PMLars Lokke Rasmussen and the Danish government on the successful holding of theP4G summit, and welcomed Denmark’s commitment in bringing into full play thestrong potential of the P4G initiative.
The two sides expressedsupport for the partnership between companies and research institutes of thetwo countries, and agreed to facilitate the establishment and operation of enterprisesof the two countries in the other market.
The two PMs welcomed thecontinuation of the bilateral cooperation in education and vocational training.They also took note of the increasing people-to-people exchanges in thecultural and socio-economic fields between the two countries.
Denmark reaffirmed the wishto support Vietnam’s agriculture, aquaculture and animal husbandry.
The two PMs expressed theirsupport to the current common efforts aimed at preventing and controlling thechallenges the poor-exercise lifestyle is posing to the population andhealthcare system in the whole world.
They stressed the importanceof bilateral cooperation at multilateral forums, especially the United Nations.
PM Lars Lokke Rasmussenhighly valued Vietnam’s increasingly positive role in the international arena.
The two PMs agreed tocooperate towards strengthening the regional links between Asia and Europe.
They expressed their supportto efforts aimed at pushing up peace, stability, cooperation and friendship inSoutheast Asia. The two sides affirmed the importance of ensuring the freedom,rights and obligations enshrined in the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of theSea (UNCLOS 1982), especially the maritime and aviation freedom in the EastSea, and called on the sides concerned to solve the disputes by peaceful meansin line with international law, including the UNCLOS 1982, to refrain fromunilateral actions that can escalate tensions, and to fully and effectivelyimplement the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC) andsoon finalise a practical, effective and comprehensive Code of Conduct (COC).-VNA
