Vietnam-Czech Republic trade hits 1.17 billion USD in 2018

Trade turnover between Vietnam and the Czech Republic reached 1.17 billion USD in 2018, according to the Czech Statistical Office.

Prague (VNA) – Trade turnover between Vietnam and the Czech Republic reached 1.17billion USD in 2018, according to the Czech Statistical Office.

In the year, the Czech Republic shipped more than 140.7 million USD worth ofgoods to Vietnam, up 32.7 percent against 2017, showing an upbeat sign in thebilateral trade.
The European country’smajor exports to Vietnam included sound and image recording equipment andtelevision sets worth over 64.78 million USD, along with optical, movie and surgery equipment,glass and crystal, plastics, military equipment, seedlings, pharmaceuticals,medicinal herbs and industrial plants.

Meanwhile, Vietnam exported audio-visual equipment valued at over 365.5 millionUSD, and footwear and similar products worth 229.8 million USD to the CzechRepublic.

Vietnamese rubber, inorganic chemical compound, leather, garment accessories,apparel, mechanical equipment, wooden furniture, farm produce and seafood werealso shipped to the country.

However, the traderevenue has yet to match economic potential and market demand of the twocountries, the office said.

In 2017, the two-waytrade reached 1.12 billion USD.-VNA
