Among its goals for the 2015-2020 tenure, the Committee hopes to improve its working performance, contributing to safeguarding sovereignty, sovereignty and jurisdiction rights, security, safety and national interests at sea.
It will focus its efforts on developing a revolutionary, regular, elite and modern force with improved professionalism and preparedness for fighting while strengthening its political mindset and organisation.
The drive to study and follow the moral example of President Ho Chi Minh among Party members and officers will also continue.
Speaking at the event, Cung asked the Coast Guard to stay vigilant, effectively and flexibly deal with contingencies at sea, crack down on crimes and raise fishermen awareness of Vietnamese and international law.
