Addressing the event, Vice Mayor ofFangchenggang Jiang Xiuqian said the launch of the red tourism named “Inthe Footprints of Uncle Ho” and the Vietnam-China people’s friendshipfestival are important activities of people-to-people exchange betweenthe two countries.
The event also marks the 65thanniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China and the125th anniversary of the late President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday, he said.
Vu Xuan Hong, President of the Vietnam Union ofFriendship Organisations, underscored that the festival and the travelroute will contribute to educating the two countries’ people, especiallythe youth, about the Vietnam-China ties.
Healso recalled the revolutionary journey of President Ho Chi Minh inChina, noting that every step he made in the country was closelyassociated with important events of the Vietnamese revolution and markedthe close ties between Vietnam and China.
Afterthe launching ceremony, delegates laid flowers at the monumentdedicated to Chinese and Vietnamese fallen revolutionaries, the Ho ChiMinh Temple, the China-Vietnam Friendship House and the place from whichships departed for Vietnam carrying aids to help the Vietnamesepeople’s national liberation war.
