The Vietnam-China Friendship Youth Wall was inaugurated on the morningof October 20 in Nanning in China ’s Guangxi Zhuang AutonomousRegion.
When addressing the inauguration ceremony, Deputy Foreign Minister BuiThanh Son praised the significance of the Vietnamese-Chinese YouthFestival during Friendship Year 2010 and the 60 th anniversary of bothcountries establishing diplomatic ties.
The Wall andother activities during the festival were important for educating theyounger generations in each country about the traditional friendshipbetween both countries’ communist youth unions and promoting theVietnamese-Chinese comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership,confirmed the Vietnamese diplomat.
For his part,Vice Secretary of the Guangxi Party Committee Chen Ji Wa stressed thatthe Vietnam-China Friendship Youth Wall with the theme “Youth andFriendship” is a permanent symbol of both countries’ traditionalcooperative relationship.
This is an importanthistorical landmark and confirms the role and mission of young peoplefrom both countries in promoting the development of Chinese-Vietnameseties.
Construction of the Wall was started at theNanning City Sports Park on August 28. More than 5,600 officialsas well as youth leaders of Vietnam and China have so far lefttheir hand prints on the wall./.
